Paul Griffith: I've been meaning to watch this since I missed ICCX; just watched it now, and the new gateway UI and changes look awesome! As well as all of the other things mentioned. Super excited for the tag usage reference index (forget what it was called) as well to track usages of tags and finally be able to know which tags are used and which aren't. Where's the drool emoticon when I need it?

I would like to be able to export / import groups of settings.
In specific, I am interested in exporting and importing security settings. I have 180 Ignition gateways and would like to export and import configuration settings for:
- Identify providers
- Security Levels
- General Security
- Users, Roles
- Gateway Network
- EAM Agent
Maintaining configuration is turning into a full-time job

Please include an automatic backup feature for individual projects as well so we can automatically backup projects once per hour while under development. We have had some severe progress losses and the best we can do is restore a nightly backup of the entire gateway someplace just to pull off a single project. It would be nice to never have to worry about losing more than one hour of work. For bonus points, have an option or just make it so that it only backs up if the project has been open in a designer session since the last auto-backup.

In some cases, the environments where you want to deploy an new version of a project (gateway settings, new tags, views, scripts...) are not accessible through the network.
As a result, the Enterprise Administration module cannot be used.
It would be practical to have a tool that allows you to export several elements related to the Gateway, projects, or even databases (SQL scripts) in a proprietary format and import it to another Gateway so that these elements can be recreated in the predefined order.

Export in an open format would be highly preferred over proprietary

I would like to be able to restore individual resources from project from a gateway backup as well, much like you do in a project export. Currently my backup procedure is: backup gateway, export tags, export project(s), export global (this last step is replaced in Ignition 8.0 with exporting the global project). The only reason I take more than the backup of the Gateway is so that I don't have to restore a whole gateway to pull resources out of it. It would be awesome if the gateway backup could be used in a more versatile way.

Carl,
It would be great if this feature also had a zero touch import method. Instead of having to go into the gateway config and importing the backup files manually that there was a way to make this process automatic. This would be very useful for efficiently deploying a new gateway installation with some sort of automated tools.
Thanks
