I recently created a window that allows users to login to Ignition apps by scanning their company badge into a USB RFID reader (works like a keyboard). I am doing this under a database authentication profile. I don't see being able to do this with AD since you can't access the AD password but that works for us since each AD account consumes a windows licence and we have many users (all of which have RFID badges) that are not in our AD. I also wrote as small script to check that the login was coming from the badge scanner (checking things like total time and time between keystrokes).
