EAM Controller now implements an optional maximum retention policy for agent gateway backups. Older gateway backups will be automatically deleted when the max retention age is exceeded. A maximum number of retained gateway backups can also be specified.

100% agree. An SOP was created for someone to go in manually once a month and purge old back-ups. Seems like this should be a trivial item to add that will help QoL significantly.

We're running out of disk space and we don't need to keep old backups for more than 5 days.
I've written a script to delete the old backup files (I'll keep the 5 most recent from each server).
If the number of backups to keep can't be added to the Agent Task Backup, please create a new Agent Task to purge old backup files. I'd rather have a configuration item than maintain another script.
